Great effort from a short benched squad tonight, with injuries, suspensions and illness hitting us hard, to turn this tie round and put their name in the 🎩 for the SF of the League Cup
We started well but our achilles heel of not taking our chances seen us squander a number of good opportunities to take the lead. This was to bite us in the bum when we conceded a first in almost identical fashion to last week when we didn't deal with a quick counterattack allowing the Blackburn striker to fire home. We then lost a 2nd on HT when the Blackburn player looked well offside but with no whistle he was able to square the ball which was rifled home. With a feeling of Deja Vue descending the boys trudged off at HT wondering how they were behind
With Stevie and Andy's word ringing in their ears and Greg thrown forward to lead the attack we started on the front foot and got the goal our play deserved in the 50th min when Logan W’s driven cross was expertly flicked home by Greg. We then went after the equaliser and Greg came up good when he hooked the ball into the top corner. We then got our noses in front when another ball into the box fell at Matty's feet who fired the ball home with a slight deflection to see the turnaround complete.
After the lows of the last 2 weeks, it was great to see the boys get back on track and make sure we are still challenging in both EOSFL Development cups.
